Java Security and Launching Banner

General Notes:

  • I have bookmarked Banner links on oiehelp.uga.edu which is a bit easier to remember that the actual Banner link.
  • Accessing Banner requires the Cisco VPN AnyConnect client, connect to remote.uga.edu, use the Group ’02 Restricted’

  • Banner requires the use of Internet Explorer

 

Note 2: First Time Launching Java and Banner

  1. Click the Windows start button and type java
  2. Select 'Configure Java' (see picture)
  3. On the Security tab, click 'Edit Site List...'
  4. Click 'Add' and type https://sis-inb-prod.uga.edu then hit OK (see picture)
    1. Picture shows the nolij URL, make sure yours shows https://sis-inb-prod.uga.edu
  5. Banner should now be added to the exception list (see picture)

  6. Close Internet Explorer and re-open it
  7. When launching Banner, be sure to select ‘Don’t Block’ and follow the rest of the prompts.
