History of the USG
Launch Day
UGA finanical systems went live on July 1, 2019. UGA pays 10s of thousands of employees, paychecks are very important to get correct.
UGA changes HR systems and payroll to OneUSG Connect in December 2019.
With all the recent changes in a large organization like UGA, the number of business cycles to recover costs (time/labor) is three cycles. USG operates a business cycle on the fiscal year. We are in year ONE (1.5yrs) of UGA financial management changeover and year ZERO (0.8yrs) of the HR system.
Putting Together the Big Picture
UGA FMS
The UGA Financial Management System is UGA's own hosted and supported financial management system implemented. I like to think of UGA FMS as UGA's checkbook, where money is paid out and expenses are tracked.
The UGA Financial Management System uses the Oracle PeopleSoft Financials Management suite of software as its basis. Based on UGA's business processes, the software has been configured to use for financial management activities at the University of Georgia. UGA FMS supports business processes in Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Accounts Receivable, Budgets, Cash Management, General Ledger, Grants Management, Project Costing, and Travel & Expenses.
