Excel Charts

For this article, actual data is pulled from my Google Activity and Fitbit Data.

The purpose of this article is to review the many options for creating charts in Excel

Choosing the Right Chart For You

Sounds like an easy decision, however, there are volumes of information on all the details that go into such a choice. Here are a couple suggestions:

  1. This chart on a decision path for comparison type
  2. Visual Vocabulary
  3. Select your Excel data and click the recommend chart button in Excel (TODO: Images of the each version's recommend button.)
    1. iOS Excel App
    2. Excel 2016
    3. Excel 2019
    4. Excel 365

Here is an example the difference in chart type can be in communication information quickly.

Fitbit Data

Fine Tuning Your Chart

Be sure to use the Design tab to make changes to the chart properties and Format tab to make style changes to the chart.
